5 Fantastic Uses for Baby Powder

Baby powder only has one use right? Powdering babies, duh, It’s in the name. Wrong! You can use baby powder for a variety of things. Without further ado, here are some ways you can use baby powder that doesn’t include babies.

bacon and egg cupcake1. Absorb grease stains on clothing

It’s happened to everyone. All you wanted was some delicious bacon, but that bacon had to strike back and has now left a horrible stain on your favorite shirt. Fine, bacon! I thought we were friends! Quick, grab some baby powder and dab in on the stain, brush off the excess and let the powder soak up all that nasty unwanted grease. Repeat until the stain is gone. Now you can enjoy some bacon and egg cupcakes.

molly2. Dry shampoo

I use baby powder at least once a week as a dry shampoo. Sometimes I’m just too tired to take my nightly shower. Then I easily talk myself out of it, ‘I didn’t really get that dirty today, anyways’ or ‘My hair doesn’t look that bad’ or ‘I’ll take one in the morning.’ (I won’t and I know it, but it’s so easy to lie to myself when I just want to go to bed). Then I wake up in the morning and my hair looks dirty and I don’t have time to take a shower, why didn’t I just do it last night? That’s when I pull out my secret weapon, baby powder. Just sprinkle some in my hands and rub into my roots. It soaks up any moisture and works just like a dry shampoo, without a dry time. I also use it as a dry shampoo on my dog, Molly, the same way!

powder on hand3. Eyelash enhancer

You can dust your eyelashes with a small amount of baby powder before applying mascara. The powder works like a primer and makes your eyelashes appear fuller.

girl feet in sand4. Removing sand

After a day on the beach, everyone is tired…and covered in sand. That stuff gets EVERYWHERE! Rinsing off in the ocean doesn’t even work because you just have to walk back over the sand to get to your car. Even those outdoor showers don’t get the job done because the whole area around them is covered in sand. Baby powder can help you here. Just sprinkle powder on sweaty, sand-covered kids (and adults) before they get in your car. The powder soaks up any excess moisture and makes sand incredibly easy to brush off. One beach problem solved. All your other sand infested stuff is just gonna have to be contained in the trunk. You can vacuum that out.

running shoes5. Shoe odor

Nobody ever wants to admit that their shoes smell, but it happens to everyone. If you have ever owned a pair of flats, you know you can’t wear socks with those things. That just looks weird. But at the end of the day, after your feet have been locked up in tiny leather jail cells, sweating away, you pull those shoes off and they stink. (What?! My feet don’t sweat! Yes. Yes, they do, now sit down). There’s no way around it. Except baby powder. You can powder your feet and inside of your shoes before you slip them on to cut down on moisture throughout the day. Then after you take your shoes off, you can easily dust the inside of your shoes with baby powder and let them sit overnight. The baby powder will soak up any moisture and make your shoes smell fresh.

There are other uses for baby powder, but I didn’t want my post to turn into a novel, so if you use baby powder for anything else or have heard it being used for anything, or you have any ideas of how else to use baby powder or you just want to talk, comment below! =)

You can get baby powder at Manteca Grocery Outlet for only 99 cents! So you can stock up! =)

Delon conditioner with Argan oil

delon conditioner

I am kind of a conditioner fiend. It’s been a little mission of mine for quite a while now to find a conditioner that equals the awesome little conditioner packets they give you in at home hair dying kits. If you’ve ever used one of these kits, you know what I’m talking about. That conditioner makes my hair feel so incredibly amazing and it always makes me sad when they only give me one tiny little one use packet. So I’ve been on the search for years for a conditioner that makes my hair that happy.

I’ve had this Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner in stock for quite some time, but I was always skeptical to try it because of that big scary word : Oil. Why would I want to put oil in my hair? Wouldn’t that just make it oily? That’s what I always thought. Until I stumbled across a post online about natural oils that are good for your hair. The first one listed : Argan Oil. Argan oil was referred to as the ‘Miracle Oil’ and they listed several benefits of it such as a natural sunscreen, heat protectant, intensive repair treatment, improving elasticity in brittle hair, reducing frizziness, repairing damage, reducing future breakage, and helping hair growth. Now, plenty of conditioners claim to do these things, but I had always stuck to brands like Tresemme or Aussie and nothing that said anything about oil. After I had read about Argan oil, I was very much considering buying a bottle. I finally made up my mind when my cousin mentioned liking her new Argan oil conditioner.

So I finally bought the Delon conditioner with Argan Oil. I started off reading the bottle and saw that this product is not tested on animals, which I really liked. After my first use, I was in love. I think everybody knows the amazing silky feeling that your hair gets when you are rinsing out your conditioner. Sometimes it’s silkier than others, depending on what conditioner you use. The silkiest I have ever felt it was after using the conditioner from hair dying kits. Until Delon. After shampooing, I coated my hair with conditioner, focusing on my roots. I left it on for about two, maybe three, minutes while I shaved and washed. Then came the moment of truth, rinsing it out. As I was rinsing, I actually ‘Ohh’ed over the way my hair felt. I was definitely satisfied.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like if I use any one conditioner for too long, my hair gets used to it and it stops really working. But that was not the case for this conditioner. I am on my second bottle and my hair still feels amazing after every shower. I normally let my hair dry naturally and it would always dry kind of frizzy and I hated it. After I started using Delon with Argan oil it doesn’t get frizzy. I also straighten my hair almost everyday (if I have time) on the highest setting (because I’m impatient), that’s a lot of heat that my hair has to deal with. Before this conditioner I noticed my hair would get kind of dry after I straighten it. Not anymore. My hair feels so healthy when I touch it now that I smile stupidly. And that makes me happy! I absolutely love this conditioner and I would recommend it to anyone, no matter what your hair type. Because you never know when you might stumble across your next favorite thing. =)

I found Delon shampoo and conditioner with Argan Oil online from 6.99 – 11.29 per bottle. But you can get 12 ounce bottles of Delon shampoo and conditioner with Argan Oil at Manteca Grocery Outlet for only 3.99 per bottle. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask me!
